Overview

The Tallebudgera Pony Club encourages people of all ages to ride and learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding. The Club also provides instruction in riding and horsemanship, attempts to instil in members the proper love and care of their animals, and promote the highest ideals of horsemanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self discipline.

Our History

Our Pony Club originated in Tweed Heads and Kirra, on the primary school grounds near the zoo. Hence the previous name of Twin Towns. Reg and Jan Kennedy were the founding members. In 1967 the club grounds were located at Salk Oval, Palm Beach, until the Mills property in Currumbin which was our temporary grounds shortly before 1974 when the Council allocated land at Andrews Road, Tallebudgera.

In our early years, Mr Merv Craig (President), Mrs Nola Craig (Chief Instructor) and Mrs Sadie Schmith –(Secretary), all of whom are life members of our club, and early club families including the Palmer, Booth , Anstee, Jaa, Staatz, Pomroy, Mills, McClymont, Farrel, Warrington and many others, gave the firm grounding to the Club we are today.
